I Didn't Go To The Theater Today

We were going to go to a car show, but we left a LITTLE late (yeah, like 2pm). Because there were no cars left in sight, we went to Lowe's and Wal-Mart to pick up a few things.  While we were looking for the cars, I snapped a picture of this old theater.  It is really small, but I think it looks pretty cool.

Friends, Fire, and S'mores!

Today we had some friends over for a barbecue (my family barbecues a lot. It's just easy and keeps the heat outside!) Anyways, we had some friends over that I haven't seen in two years.  We had chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelon, corn on the cob, cookies and my sister baked some cupcakes. Yum, right?
After we ate, we headed outside and my mom started a fire in her fire pit so we could roast marshmallows and make S'mores.  I don't like marshmallows, but I love taking pictures of them...and fire, of course.  When it started getting dark, I grabbed my tripod and tried to take pictures of the stars, but it didn't quite work out as well and I wish it had.  My dad said it wasn't dark enough.  I think I need a better zoom lens as well. I did get a nice picture with some stars though.
My sister was playing with the fire, sticking a stick in and then blowing the fire out. when my mom came back with more firewood, she had some flat boards that my sister took and started drawing on. The first one, she drew a Hangman game.  The second and third, she decided she was going to draw me and my mother and preform voodoo on us.  Yeah, my sister is weird.

Hiking With The Famiy

With my momma on vacation from work for two weeks, she plans on doing tons of cool adventure-y things with me while I'm here.  Today, we went hiking through some trails near our home.  My brother and sister came with us, along with Cassie, their dog.  I kind of wish there was more colors, but it's the woods. What do I expect, the rainforest?

Finding cool places to take pictures and making my brother and sister pose for me was pretty awesome.  I really enjoy being able to make memories with them while I'm out here.  It's better than sitting in front of a TV or computer screen all day, that's for sure.

We found some unexpected things while exploring the woods.  A set of three little steps.was one of them.  I actually didn't even think about them until my mom pointed them out after I passed them.  I just had to take a picture, like always.  There was also a wooden bridge, which is necessary because it's wetlands apparently, but they need some rain so a lot of the water is dried up.

Also, Cassie LOVES hiking and she must be in front of everyone.  If she falls behind, all you have to say is "Cassie, I'm in front of you!" and she sprints to the front.  She's such a good dog. Didn't try to run away once.
