SF: Coit Tower and Pier 39

Man in Coit Tower Reading a Map
The boyfriend planned an amazing trip to San Francisco for us today.  Probably one of the first that I haven't had to alter in some form.  Once he woke up, he came, got me, and we took BART to San Francisco, where we would be going to Coit Tower and Pier 39.  We nearly got lost going the wrong immediately after leaving the station. Luckily, SF has maps all over the place!  The boyfriend was annoyed part of the way to the tower because of a guy who was trying to earn money by shining shoes, but that passed and we had a wonderful time despite the crowds, strange smells, and steep hills.

Finally, we made it to Coit Tower and I was taking a TON of pictures of the cityscape and of the Bay Bridge.  Even without going up the tower, we were still pretty high. To go up, you had to enter a small elevator that held about ten passengers.  All the way at the top, you could see for MILES.  It was truly amazing. People were putting all kinds of different coins from around the world through the cracks of the windows and I couldn't help but wonder why people did this and what happened to the coins later.

Once we were done with the tower, we walked over to the pier in search for dinner.  Boyfriend wanted to go to his favorite restaurant there, Bubba Gump's, which serves fish. I do NOT eat seafood.  Lucky for him, they had a delicious burger option.  The restaurant was completely Forrest Gump themed.  The waitress even stopped by our table and asked trivia questions about the movie (we got them all right, of course).

After dinner, we stepped outside to find that the weather was now FREEZING.  I was wearing shorts and the boyfriend didn't bring a jacket because he didn't want to carry it.  We sure learned our lesson that day.  Always take extra clothes with you while going to San Francisco!

Chocolate Pudding Covered Strawberries

My grandma bought these strawberries that were ABSOLUTELY delicious.  I could not stop eating them all day.  After everyone had gone to sleep, I went to the kitchen to look for something to eat and I saw a pudding cup in the refridgerator.  I also saw the strawberries and got a great idea! I dunked those strawberries in the pudding and PRESTO! chocolate deliciousness!

Bowling With Friends

A few of my friends and I decided to go bowling.  We had a lot of fun, even though most of us were terrible at it! After we bowled two games, two people had to leave.  We ended up going to Taco Bell because we were hungry.  After we ate, we went to the park and played basketball.  Later, we were hungry again so we went to BJ's and had pizza and a giant cookie with ice cream on top. Yum <3

Memorial Day Barbecue

I love a good family barbecue. There's something about yummy food and spending time with amazing people that brings joy to me.  Maybe it's the memories that are formed! Like this one, my aunt didn't realize my grandma had barbecued some hot dogs, so I had to give my cousins part of mine. Half my hot dog was gone before I even started eating!

I Live For Long Walks On The Beach

I had wanted to go to the beach on Saturday, but that didn't go as according to planned. We decided to do it Sunday after church instead and spend Saturday with the boyfriend's family, watching Star Wars! Today didn't go exactly as planned, but it was still a nice day.  First, we went to church and I got a lot of hugs, like usual. My voice kept cracking while I was singing, which was annoying and I got to see so many people that I had missed since I had not been there in awhile.

After church, the boyfriend and I were hungry, so we stopped at Chipotle to get some Mexican food. Tacos, burrito, quesadilla, and chips. Yummy <3 Finally, we were on our way to the beach! When we got there, the boyfriend took a nap in the car while I finished reading my book.  When he woke up, we went down to the sand and walked and walked.
Along the way, we met this couple who asked me to take their picture, so I did. They were pretty good pictures if I do say so myself. However, I'm still a Nikon Girl (they had a Canon. Blech).  Next, we found some rocks, were we stopped and sat down for a while, taking TONS of pictures of course. The water was getting kind of high though and splashing the boyfriend's back when he was sitting there, so we moved on. A little farther, we found passed a graffiti covered staircase.
Beyond the staircase, there were a little jellyfish all over the shore because it has been so windy lately and I found a Seaweed Monster! His name is Skeeter. We walked a little farther, then we sat down and watched the waves until we decided it was time to go back to the car. We decided to go up to the road because it would be faster and we discovered that the road had been closed because of all the sand in the road, also due to the wind!
Finally, we got to the car and we waited until sunset while the boyfriend ate his burrito (I may have had a few bites ;]).  When the sun began setting, I jumped out of the car and took pictures of the gorgeous sky over the ocean.  Today was such a good day. I'm glad I got to spend it with my best friend. :]
