Cabins in the Woods and a Creek

My mom's friend from work moved away and wanted us to come visit so she could take us to this place called Gatton Rock, which was basically just a muddy creek.  Not very exciting.  My sister and I started exploring and we found some pretty neat stuff along the way.

First, we picked wheat grass to stick in our mouths to act like we were farmers and then a flower to put in our hair.  Mine was an orange lily, of course. There was a tree nursery and farms on either side of the creek.  I got some nice country pictures that I definitely wouldn't be able to get in the city. There is something so peaceful about fences that  probably need a paint job and don't do a great job of enclosing the wide open spaces of what is called the farmer's land.  Maybe that's because my mom has a thing for all things country.

We followed the path past another nursery, where they were watering the trees with sprinklers.  It was REALLY hot, so my sister and I decided to walk in them.  The water was cold and refreshing against our warm skin.  Continuing on in the path, we found a fork in the road.  There was nothing really to the left so when we came back down, we went the right way, which took us up this steep hill into a wooded area.  Next thing we know, we see this old abandoned house. The windows are missing, the door is hanging wide open, and the porch is caving in.  Needless to say, it was pretty creepy.

THEN MY SISTER DECIDES TO GO IN! ...so I follow her. It was actually pretty cool.  Inside, there was old furniture that the owners must have left behind.  Ovens, refrigerators, tables, dressers, my sister said there was even a bed in one of the rooms, I didn't see it though.  The houses were pretty small.  Only a few rooms in each one.

In the last house that we went in, the porch roof had completely collapsed, so it was a bit challeging to get to the door, but we managed.  There was a huge window and the glass was missing, so my sister decided to jump out of it.  We continued walking, found an outhouse infested with spiders and got lost in the woods.  Luckily, we could still see the cabin we had just visited.  My sister had sliced her finger on a piece of glass so we decided to go back.

When we told everyone about our adventures, my sister said that we had seen a ghost in the last cabin.  His name was Sam and she was so scared that she jumped out of the window and sliced her finger on a shard of glass still in the window frame.
Hey, It could have happened!
